How the smartest brands are using AI (to make more money today)
Yo! Parker here.
Last week I was chatting with the founder of a $50M Shopify brand who told me something wild:
They fired 3 copywriters... and their conversion rate went UP.
How? They're using AI the right way. Not the cringe "let's add a chatbot because everyone else has one" way. But the "holy sh*t our profit margins just jumped 25%" way.
Here's the thing - while everyone's talking about AI, most ecommerce brands are doing it wrong. They're chasing shiny objects instead of profit. But a small group of operators are absolutely crushing it.
Let me give you a taste:
Remember Allbirds? (tbh their product is kinda rad again). They were drowning in product description work. Had a backlog of 300+ SKUs that needed fresh copy. Their solution? They built a GPT-4 powered system that writes product descriptions in their exact brand voice. But here's the clever part - they don't just let AI write whatever. They have a human editor who spends 10 minutes tweaking each description (instead of the usual 2 hours writing from scratch).
Results? They cleared their backlog in 2 weeks and saw a 12% bump in conversion rate. The secret wasn't the AI - it was knowing exactly where to use it in their workflow.
But here's where it gets really interesting...
MVMT Watches (shout out to Jake Kassan the OG, founder, mentor and friend) took this even further. They're using AI to write 5 different product descriptions for each watch, then running them through A/B tests. The winning descriptions are fed back into their AI system, making it smarter over time. Their product page conversion rate is up 31% since implementing this.
But my favorite example?
A small swimwear brand (doing $8M/year) used AI to analyze thousands of customer service transcripts. They discovered that 82% of their support questions were about just 3 topics. So they built a simple AI system to handle those specific questions.
The result? Their customer service team went from drowning in emails to having enough time to actually do proactive outreach to VIP customers. Their customer satisfaction score jumped 28%.
In tomorrow's full newsletter, I'm going to break down:
The exact tools these brands are using (with real costs)
The 5-step process to implement AI without screwing up your brand voice
Why most chatbots fail (and how the winners set them up differently)
The secret "hybrid" approach that's working 3X better than pure AI or pure human teams
Plus, I'll share the nastiest AI horror story I've heard (involving a brand that lost $430K in 3 days because they trusted AI too much).

See you tomorrow, Parker
P.S. I'm also going to share the AI tool stack that one of my portfolio companies used to cut their customer service costs by 62% while increasing satisfaction scores. It's nuts.
